Check Out These Wheels!

Here’s the final edit of a commercial I shot for Acura that aired in Dallas – I tried to convince the producers to let me have the car in exchange for all my hard work on set but they didn’t go for that idea, LOL…..Believe it or not it took 7 hours on set just to get the correct shot of me walking by the car, running my finger along the side and turning a darn knob! But at the end of the day it was fun to sink back in the leather seats and enjoy the fake wind in my hair :-) I’m waiting for Ferrari to come calling, maybe those guys will give me a vehicle :-)

If you are a fan of movies like Poltergeist, you’ll love this new pilot show I’m co-hosting, called “Paranormal Matrix.” This intriguing program, produced by Spectrum Video and Film, explores REAL stories of the wild and unexplainable with one on one interviews and meetings with some of the top paranormal experts in the nation!

I have to say this is one of the most unique projects I’ve worked on – I’ve been able to interview some very interesting subjects including an astrologist who works with the police to profile serial killers charts, as well as a retired govt defense official who was privy to secret files of UFO activity tracked by the government, among other stories!

The program is being considered for both foreign and domestic distribution, and you can watch a preview here – look for upcoming news on the progress of “Paranormal Matrix” and future stories! For more info you can also visit spectrumvideoandfilm.com.

“Maneater”

I just completed work on an extremely fun project called “Maneater.” This television miniseries, which will air on Lifetime over Memorial Day Weekend in two episodes, was directed by film and television star, Timothy Busfield. What a fun set it was, with great comedic and dramatic actors including Sarah Chalke, Judy Greer, Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon, Maria Conchita Alonzo, and more….I played a spoiled, pretentious Beverly Hills snob named “Misty,” who is a so-called friend of the lead character, played by Sarah Chalke. I have to say, I don’t like to do “bimbo” roles very often, but this one was way too much fun to pass up, because the miniseries is so over the top funny, and my character is such an idiot, lol! How could I resist!?? Check local listings for air times in your area…

Official Press Release:

STARZ ENTERTAINMENT PICKS UP AWARD WINNING MOVIE The Controller

Phoenix, AZ (March 30, 2009) –  Starz Entertainment recently acquired the US broadcast rights to distribute the live-action/animated, action/comedy feature The Controller.  Starz, one of the leading premium entertainment television channels will premiere the movie on their Starz Kids & Family channel on April 20th, 9:45/6:45am ET/PT and 4:50/1:50pm ET/PT.

With the endorsement of video game console giant XBOX, this highly anticipated movie is the directorial debut of award winning filmmaker Frank Michels who also penned the original fiction screenplay about the world of online console video game players.

The Controller centers around a bored billionaire stuck in his “perfect” world, until his wife is suddenly abducted.  Now, he is forced to play a video game and win within eight hours to get her back.  In his new “surreal” world, we follow along as the billionaire joins forces with an oddly diverse team of unsung heroes known as the “Armchair Combat Professionals”.

However, not all of the Armchair Combat Professionals work alone.  John Dobradenka commandeers the role of Armchair Combat Professional, Master Chief, although, it is not until the appearance of – Mrs. Master Chief – Cathy Rankin, in which the moniker of the “uber-couple” of The Controller comes to life.  Cathy, an up-and-coming film and television actress, as well as an accomplished sports commentator and reporter, is the breath of fresh air a producer always hopes for in a movie. “She shows you, in her own special way, that she’s down to earth, genuine and funny,” says Frank Michels,  “And, the chemistry between her and John in the movie, completed the look we needed for them as a unique couple.”

Maitland Primrose Film Distribution in association with Moving Pictures Film and Television is pleased to be the worldwide distributor of The Controller.

“Locker 13″

I just completed work on the new film Locker 13, where I had a leading role opposite Dave Huddleston (Blazing Saddles/The Big Lebowski), Curtis Armstrong (Revenge of the Nerds/Risky Business) and Bart Johnson (High School Musical, the Movie).

What a great cast, and a blast to film! I played a trombone playing burlesque dancer from the 1920′s in a role that was funny, yet a bit dark and slightly sad….the best kind of complicated character an actor could hope to play! And better yet, it was my first singing role on film, so it was exciting to stretch my range and use my voice. And, by the way, it wasn’t too bad to be the only girl in the cast, either :)

The film is scheduled for completion in late 2008. For more info, go to www.Locker13.com!

In 2008, I was a featured Red Carpet Host at the Muhammad Ali Celebrity Fight Night, where I  interviewed Dionne Warwick, LaDanian Thomlinson, David Foster, Terry Crews, Kevin Sorbo, Holly Robinson Pete, Jordin Sparks and more!

It was an incredible experience, with the hottest stars from film, television, sports and music all in one room! I am looking forward to sharing clips of the interviews on my new hosting reel, which is currently in editing – keep checking back, it should be up and running on the site within a few short weeks!

“Liquid Extremes” sports show

Last summer, I had the crazy experience of hosting a new half hour sports show called “Liquid Extremes,” which takes an inside look at the fast-paced world of power boating. I am pleased to announce that the show has been sold, and as I get information on its release, I will post it here!

The first six episodes were shot entirely at Lake Havasu in Arizona in temperatures that often soared above 115 degrees! Good thing the dress code for boating involves a lot of bikinis…

However, the show producers weren’t about to let me off the hook! They had me get hands-on with the craftsmen who build these million dollar boats, so there were a few times where I was sweating it out in full gas masks and protective suits in non-air conditioned workshops! I learned how to gel coat, spray laminate and work on interiors, and let me tell you, it is HARD WORK!

Props to the guys who create these dream machines, hopefully I didn’t screw up too many paint jobs for them.

“Mad Mad Wagon Party”

Recently, I wrapped production on the comedy film, Mad Mad Wagon Party featuring George Kennedy (Cool Hand Luke, The Naked Gun). What an honor to work with such a class act. It was such a thrill because he played Leslie Nielsen’s Police Captain in the Naked Gun series, which is one of my favorite movies of all time!

Ironically, I worked with Leslie in 2004 on a hilarious Monday Night Football Promo, so I now have the thrill of being able to say I worked in comedy with both of my favorite legends – a dream come true!

The movie is now in post production, so stay tuned for updated news…
